| Class I | 5 year olds |
Children will become familiar with Japanese language through songs
like "aiueo song", "Song of Days", picture books, word games including
"shiritori" and learning of hiragana-50-sounds writing. When children
learn hiragana, we make them pay attention to stroke orders. With the progression of their skills, children will start learning Japanese basic rules including small "tsu" sound, voiced consonants, "n" sound, and long vowels. They also start learning katakana. Children will acquire the habit of writing scripts neatly and practice writing essays over and over so that they could write about their memorable experiences in Japanese. |

| JFL | This class is for the children who learn Japanese as a foreign language. |
Children will learn Japanese comprehensively including
Japanese culture, simple greetings, hiragana/katakana, usage of basic
verbs, ways to make interrogative sentences, usage of particles and so on. |
| A-1 | Early Elementary school years* |
In accordance with the K-12 curriculum guidelines in the U.S.,
students will take interdisciplinary study (meaning that students
will study various subjects in an integrated manner through activities
using Japanese language) appropriate to their school year and their
Japanese language skill level. |
