From Undo-Kai (Sports day) Committee
It was a very hot Sports Day, but the children, parents, and teachers had KODOMO
NO IE power and vitality, which let us all forget about how hot it was. It was an
Undo-Kai day that we all helped make happen and that we all enjoyed. Thank you to
those who came early and helped with setting up, parking, and preparing balloons.
Thank you to those who helped move equipment before and after the Undo-kai. Thank
you to those who volunteered in the different events and to the class mothers.
Thank you to the parents and families who participated in the events. And thank
you to everyone who cheered at the track. You all helped make good memories for us.
Harrison-san(mother of Kazuo-kun from Sakura and Eiji-kun from Ume) was watching
over us from the first aid tent. Tozai Food, who made the Bentos, changed part of
children's Bento menu and the delivery time due to the hot weather. And last but
not least, thank you everyone in the Undo-kai Committee for all your hard work.
From the Scrip Committee (April & May)
Box Tops $34.00
Thank you for your cooperation.
From the Recycling Committee
We couldn't get the report on time for the ENDAYORI deadline. $4 is all that we
can report now. Thank you for your cooperation.
From the Library Committee
We'll introduce a book recommended by the library committee from Renge class.
Daruma-chan & Tengu-chan (D-37)
"I want Tengu-chan's fan!" Daruma-don is trying to cater to what Daruma-chan
demands, but... This book will help your imagination grow and teach you the joy
of being creative.
*The school library is closed during the summer break. You cannot check out books
after Saturday, June 14th. Please return all books and videos before the summer
break. Thank you for your cooperation.
Announcements and Requests
Children enjoy riding the bicycles at Kodomo no Ie everyday. Because Encho-sensei
(Principal) would like to take good care of what people have donated, we would
like to try repairing the old bicycles and use them as long as we can. So we are
looking for volunteers who know how to repair bicycles. There are several bicycles
in need of repair. Please consult with Encho-Sensei about purchasing the needed
parts. (There is a place where you can buy parts near Kodomo no Ie.) Please let us
know if you are interested.
The Parents Association officers and class mothers have been in discussions regarding
the Parent Association fee. There will be some changes on how we collect the fee.
It's $16 for the first student per family per year (this is the same as last year),
but we'll also collect an additional $4 per additional student. Since the Saturday
class has a different system than weekday preschool, it will be the same as last
year ($16 per family) for the Saturday class. The Parents Association fee is used
for purchasing items for seasonal celebrations such as Hina-arare and Kashiwa-mochi;
event supplies and refreshments for Undoukai (medals), Christmas (hand-made present
kits) and Mochi-tsuki; gifts for the teachers and church staff on Christmas/year-end;
refreshments for the annual Parents Association General meeting; necessary materials
for conducting class mother and committee activities, and used as subsidies for
graduation memorial gifts. Every year, any surplus at the end of the school year
will be donated to the school to help improve and maintain the school facilities.
Please understand how the Parents Association fee is used and we are looking forward
to your cooperation in the new school year.
Committee members wanted for the next year. Even though we all send our children
to the same school, we don't all have the same schedules at home. We would like
your cooperation to help run all the committees smoothly for the next year, without
pushing yourself too hard.
Thank you for your hard work, the Parents Association officers, committee members
and class mothers. We would like to continue helping and supporting, so KODOMO NO
IE and the children will have another wonderful year.
