Parents Association Letter October

1: 2008 Parents Association Yearly General Meeting and Lecture


The first class mother meeting was held on Thursday, September 25th with new class mothers from all the classes. At the meeting, we confirmed the candidates for board members of this school year as listed below. The new board will be officially formed with your approval at the general meeting on Wednesday, October 22nd.

President: Chieko Masciandaro (Sakura)
Vice President: Kazue Adachi (Kiku), Tashi Ohnsman (Sakura), and Yoshiko Nakamura (Sakura)
Secretary: Tashi Ohnsman(Sakura), Kayo Nagai (Momo), and Michiko Hartzberg (Sakura)
Treasures: Naoko Higa (Kiku), Naho Ribas (Sakura)


* We will hold our monthly class mother meeting at 3:30pm on the second Thursday of the month. We welcome anybody who is interested in attending the meeting (teachers will look after your children while you are at the meeting).

* We are calling for volunteers to be members of various commitees. Please put your name on the sign-up sheet on the garage door at school (we are urgently calling for Christmas members, since Christmas is coming in a couple of months).

2008 Parents Association Yearly General Meeting and Lecture

General meeting and lecture will be held on Wednesday October 22 from 9:30am to 11:00am in the church hall.

Topics of the general meeting
1) Introduction and approval of this year’s board members
2) Explanation and approval of budget plan from the treasurers
3) Announcement of this year’s activity plans from the president

At 10:00am, our former president of the board from 2006, Ms. Kumiko Anicichi, will give a lecture about health. There will be several baby sitters to take care of your children at the meeting, so please come and attend the meeting.

The board is officially formed when at least third of members of the parents association (i.e. parents of students at Kodomo no ie) approve it by attending the meeting or submitting the letters of attorney. If you cannot attend the meeting, please be sure to submit the delegate form . You will receive a letter with details soon through your children.

Please make sure to return your delegate/intention of attendance form to your class mothers or to the collection box by the attendance sheets by Saturday, October 18th.

Are you picking up your children on time?

The safety of the children is our main concern. In addition, many people who use our after school care may feel that it is unfair that other children are playing after hours at school without parental supervision. Please make sure to pick up your children on time. Please call the school if you will be late picking up your children. If your children want to remain at school to play for a while after class, please supervise them no matter how old they are, and make sure to put away the toys they use.
