The attendance on the general meeting as well as the lecture on October 22nd, 2008
was great and all the members of the board have been approved. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents who have submitted the proxies as well as the class mothers for arranging to collect them.
The topic of the lecture this year was on "Health – importance of good water-"
by Kumiko Anicich
, who was the 2006-2007 school year parents association president. As a housewife and mother who overseas the health of the whole family, the information she shared was very interesting and informative. She has also declined the customary flower and the stipend for the lecture. If you have any question relating to the topic, please visit:
Refreshments were donated for the first time by Mitsuwa, San Gabriel store. Thank you very much!
Also special thanks to the volunteer baby sitter mommies!
Message from 2008-2009 school year Parents association president:
Hello, My name is Chieko Masciandaro
, and my son Leo attends Sakura-class. Continuing from last year, I will be serving as the president of the parents association. There are many 2nd year committee members who are looking forward to helping make Kodomono-Ie a great place for the children.
The lovely Doyo-gumi girls
came from Kumamoto-prefecture to sing many wonderful songs. The various songs brought happiness to all attendees. If you missed the concert, a DVD is available in the library area of the school! Thank you for those of you who donated snacks and money to the school.
Kids art was due October 17th. 41 students have participated in his project. Tentative delivery date for the cards will be during the first week of December
. We are looking forward to the lovely artwork by the children!
From the accounting:
Change in the parents association fee: $16 for one child, $4 additional for each additional children per family
. For the Saturday class students, the fee will be $16 regardless of the number of students
, because they do not benefit from PTA as much.

. Scheduled delivery date is early December
Christmas party is on Saturday, December 20th
. The Christmas present kit sample is displayed on the poster board. Your Christmas present for you child is due back on December 12th
Please consider using the script gift certificate for your every day shopping, Christmas shopping and as Christmas gift. Order is due on November 22
Box top labels have raised $106
The proceeds for September were $32.90
and for October were $37.91
. Thank you all for your contributions. There is a change in recycling; we will continue to collect plastic bottles ( 1PETE stamped at the bottom
), but we will no longer collect 1 gallon or 2.5 gallon water bottles. If you have 1-gallon water bottles, the school can use them as boundaries around the garden. Please bring them in with the lid attached. Than you to those of you recently signed up for the recycle committee!
Announcement & request: Fertilizer production for the garden
Please bring in vegetable & fruit peels, rice, eggshell, and fish bone finely chopped. These may be trash to you, but they make fabulous fertilizer!! Please put them in the bucket under the sign in sheet.
Thank you: Ms. Bray-Ali
