From the Sports Day Committee

Children are looking forward to Sports Day, scheduled for Sunday, May 17th. Parents' help is needed for the event. Please sign up as volunteers on the binder by the attendance sheet on the table, and on the poster on the garage door by May 5th. Parents and family members can participate in some games such as Ohtaru Korogashi (Giant Barrels), Tug-of –war (moms vs. dads) and Pankui Kyoso (Bite and Run). Class mothers will be collecting players right before each game. Your participation is appreciated. KNI T-shirts are still available for the event.

From the Recycle Committee

The combined profit for February and March is $55. Thank you.

From the Website Committee

We recently added a link to the Parents' Association page on the KNI website (www.kodomonoie.us). The scrip form and the school ID# for Office Depot are already available. We will add order forms for the Sports Day box lunch and T-shirts, and the registration information for grocery store scrip in the future.

Starbucks Fundraising

Remember that we fixed and made improvements for the school as a fundraising effort backed by Starbucks a couple of years ago? We finally received $1,000 from them. Big thanks to Kumiko Anicich who worked very hard from the beginning through several problems until the funds were received.

Parents' Association Board Members Wanted (Facility Improvement Committee Members too!)

Sports Day and summer vacation are just around the corner. Time flies. It's time to choose board members for the next school year. If you are interested, please let the current board members know. We will need a president, 2 or 3 each of vice presidents, secretaries and accountants. Class mothers will be chosen following the commencement ceremony. Board members and class mothers meet once a month for 90 minutes. They make friends through meetings and activities while their kids make new friends and reunite with old friends and teachers. There's a lot to gain for you and your child(ren).

Thank you: Ms. Ohnsman
