From Sports Day Committee

We hope you enjoyed Sports Day, despite an unexpected problem of the locked gate. Big thanks to parents and family members who worked hard in preparation, who volunteered, helped and participated to make the event fun and exciting. We are looking forward to working with you again next year.

From Recycle Committee

The profit from May is $33.11 Thank you for your continued effort in collecting recyclables. Please note that everything is done by hand so your help in emptying and rinsing bottles is greatly appreciated.

From Scrip Committee

The total profit is $298. Thank you for your cooperation.

From T-shirt Committee

We sold all the remaining items before Sports Day. Thank you.

Committee Members and Volunteers Wanted For 2009

Please have a look at the big poster on the garage door and consider signing up. KNI relies heavily on volunteers so your participation is essential for a fruitful school year for the children. It's ideal if a parent from each family signs up for a role, rather than a small group of the same parents juggling multiple tasks.

Miscellaneous

Mitsu Auto, a reliable auto repair shop, donates 3% of its profits from KNI-related customers. Try them with your next oil change. Donation between August 2008 and May 2009 totals up to $147.55.

We need men's long-sleeved dress shirts to craft koinobori next year. If you have old shirts of any color or pattern, please save them until next spring.

From Principal

I've been recovering since I had the back surgery on April 10th. I'm extremely grateful for your support and encouragement. Words can't express my gratitude to each of you, especially those who delivered dinners for me. Thank you for your kindness. I'm glad to report that my doctor gave me permission, during my visit in May, to do a little bit of cooking and cleaning, though I still need to be very careful. Thank you very much.
