＊From the New President＊
My name is Kumiko Dorio. I was the president of Kodomo No Ie (KNI) PTA last year as well, and I am continuing in my role this year. I am fortunate and grateful that some of the event committee members and class mothers (room parents) from last year are volunteering again at different capacities as board members and class mothers. I was also very excited to see some of the new parents volunteering to be room parents on the first day of school. Thank you to all of you who have filled out the volunteer sign-up sheet and paid your dues. My hope is that we will not be too imposing in asking for your support and that this year will be a good year full of laughter for both you and your children. At this time, I would like to ask for your continued cooperation in whatever is necessary to make this year a great success.

＊ Mini Rummage Sale Week＊
This year the Parents Association and KNI are planning a new fundraising event!
We will hold a week-long bazaar-like event called "Mini Rummage Sale Week".
Information and guidelines are outlined below.
We look forward to everyone's enthusiastic participation.
* This sale will be strictly for parents, guardians, and those directly associated with current KNI students ONLY. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
• Event name:
KNI Mini Rummage Sale Week
• Event week:
October 1 (Thurs) – 10 (Sat)
Under the tent located just to the right of the entrance to KNI
• Items for Sale:
Books, new or gently used clothing, Halloween costumes, toys, shoes,
vegetables or fruits from home gardens, etc.
• Important Requests:
* All donated items should be FOR CHILDREN ONLY.
* Puzzles or toys with many small pieces should be placed in a Ziploc or similar sealable container/bag.
* Clothing should be folded neatly so that they can be easily viewed by others.
* As there will NOT be anyone watching or in charge of the donated items, please make sure that children do not play with the donated items. We want to ensure that all items remain clean and saleable.
• How to Donate & Purchase Items:
*Please display any items that you would like to donate under the tent.
*If there is something you would like to purchase, please place your money in the jar/box located under the tent and take your purchase home. The amount that you pay for each item is considered a donation and can be whatever you are comfortable with.
The money collected from this Rummage Sale will be divided equally between KNI and the Parents Association.
We have had two fundraising events since the beginning of this school year.
Thank you very much for your participation in the T-shirt Sale. Your T-shirt order will be ready by mid-October. Thank you also to those who participated in the ASPIRE catalog order. Your ASPIRE order is expected to be delivered by mid-January.
SCRIP (gift card) orders will start soon! We look forward to your participation during this fundraising event.
