Parents Association Board -- October

Greeting from, Mie Asai, the President of the KNI Parents Association

It is my honor to be president of the KNI Parents Association this year. It has been 7 years since my daughter started at KNI when she was just 1 year old. My son has been attending KNI as well and will graduate at the end of this year. Therefore, this year will be our last year to enjoy KNI. I have already learned so much from being a class mother in Sakura-gumi, and an Event Committee Coordinator at KNI. I am very grateful that I can keep working with new KNI parents, parents who helped me as class mothers, parents who only speak English, yet volunteered to be a class mother, and last but not least, our KNI Parents Association board members who are nothing but helpful to me.
I cannot thank enough all the parents who filled out the volunteer sign-up sheet and are supporting KNI by submitting the PTA fee.
This year is KNI’s 30th Anniversary. That gives us another reason to make our Parent Association and all the events extra special with your strong support. We are looking forward to working together with you this year at KNI!

KNI Parents Association Email List

We have a KNI Parents Association email address(kodomonoie.pa@gmail.com). KNI school events or news that has to do with all the classes will be sent from this address to the KNI Parents Association email list. Please contact us through this email address if you have any questions or suggestions for KNI.

Mini Rummage Sale Week

Due to popular demand, we will be holding a Mini Rummage Sale this year again. It will be held under the tent on the right side of the entrance gate. Please donate toys, kids’ clothes, kids’ shoes, etc… (Kids’ items only) and place them on the table under the tent during the sale week (9/28/16-10/11/16). If you find any items you like, please put the money in the “Tip Box”. Also, there is no one in charge of the donated items, so please help us by keeping your children from touching and/or playing with the items (especially toys) and try to organize when you find it messy. This Mini Rummage Sale is a part of our fundraising and the profit will be split between KNI and the Parents Association.
● Date: 9/28/16 (Wed) – 10/11/16 (Tue)
● Place: Under the tent on the right side of the entrance gate
● Items: Primarily kids’ items (books, new or good condition used clothes / Halloween costumes / toys / shoes, etc...), please note we do not accept any toy weapons (knives, guns; including water guns, etc…) there. We are also looking for fresh vegetables and fruits harvested at home.

Please prepare items so they can be easily accessed and purchased. For example, put all puzzle pieces in a Ziploc bag, and make sure clothes are folded neatly.

From Fundraising (Mrs. Ikudome)

New classes for 2016 have begun at KNI! We really appreciate the support you give by participating in our fundraising, and have already distributed a list of all our fundraisers to you.
Thank you so much for your t-shirt and Aspire Catalogue orders. T-shirts will be available around mid-October. Aspire Catalogue items will be available around the end of October. It sounds a little early but we are preparing Scrip gift cards for the upcoming Christmas, and we look forward to your support. Every single time you participate, it makes a big difference to our fundraising. Thank you again for your cooperation.
