Parent Association Meeting April 2015
1: From the PA Bazaar
2: From Sports Day Committee
4: From Fundraising
From the PA Bazaar
We were blessed with good weather on 3/14 and thankful that so many people attended. Our total sale was over $3400.
This year we received many donations from various companies and restaurants. We are truly grateful to those people who donated items, meals, baked goods and craft. We would also like to thank all the parents and the volunteers. This event would not have been as successful without everyone’s support.
The proceeds from the bazaar will be used to purchase something for the school and a portion will be donated to the earthquake relief fund at Shikaori Elementary school located in Miyagi prefecture.
We will continue to organize the bazaar as long as we have volunteers. If anyone is interested to help next year, please feel free to let the class mother or PA know.
From Sports Day Committee
Sports Day to be held on 5/17 (Sun) will be the last big event for KNI. Thank you very much to those parents who signed up to be volunteers at the beginning of this year. Please note those parents with children who entered during the school year will also volunteer for this event.
Volunteer details will be sent after spring vacation from either the committee or class mother. We appreciate your support.
As sports day is one of the biggest event for KNI, we will need the help and cooperation of many parents. Although you may have volunteered at another event this year, please let us know if you are available to help.
We are now looking for parents who can be part of the PA board, event committee, translation committee, and/or be class mother for the next school year.
PA board consists of 1 president, 1-2 people as vice president, 4-5people as secretary (document translation and web), 2-3people for accounting, and 1 person as translation coordinator. There are 2-3 class mothers per class. The event committee’s function is to prepare for the 3 big KNI events (Christmas Party, Mochi tsuki, and Sports day) and coordinate with the parents regarding these events. The translation committee’s function is to translate the monthly newsletter into English and so this can be done in the convenience of your own home. The monthly class mother meeting is very casual and the children look forward to playing with children from other classes. If you are interested, please contact the class mother or the current committee members. We look forward to everyone’s support!!
☆Deadline to order t-shirt is 4/11 (Sat)
We look forward to receiving your order!!
☆We will soon begin the sales of SCRIP (gift card). This will be the last fundraiser of this year and so we hope to have everyone participate.
☆We sold t-shirts and items with school logo at the recent bazaar and raised about $100. Thank you very much. We also have for sale used t-shirts which were sample displays. Please let us know if you are interested to purchase these.
