It’s already November, and the holiday season is upon us. At Kodomo No Ie, there will be a Christmas Pageant in December and the Mochi Making Event in January which are two of the school year’s three main events. The Events Committee are already starting to prepare for the two events. We will soon be sending out emails to all guardians regarding volunteer assignments and donation collection.
We have a few favors to ask of everyone. We are currently collecting donations for the refreshments that will be served on the day of the Christmas Pageant. Last year, the baked goods donations from the guardians were very popular. For those that can donate or know of businesses that are willing to donate goods, please reach out to the Christmas Committee at email@example.com.
Together with the guardians, we are looking forward to creating a memorable event. Please reach out to your Class Mother or a Committee member with any suggestions or questions. We appreciate everyone’s participation!
Donation Week Report
We held a fundraising event titled “Donation Week” for the first time this year for ten days from October 1st (Thur) - 10th (Sat).
With everyone’s participation, we raised $548.79 (split 50/50 between the Preschool and Parents Association). Thank you for your participation.
Since it was a popular event among the guardians, we plan to hold the same event three more times this year, including after the holiday season (around January) when many may have unwanted toys around to donate. We will keep you informed of the upcoming schedule. There were eleven boxes of unwanted items from the last event, and they were donated to the Salvation Army.
Photo Sharing Site
This year, we will be switching the photo sharing site, where the Photo Committee members upload the photos they take at the Preschool events, from Shutterfly to Flickr. We wanted as many guardians as possible to view the photos and for people to share with their family in Japan, so we decided to go with Flickr for easy viewing and downloading. After the events, you will receive an e-mail with the link when the photos are available for viewing.
We continued our fundraising with T-shirts, Aspire, and Scrip sales. Thank you for your participation. Items from Scrip will be delivered before the Thanksgiving holiday.
